Patrick is a long time resident of Virginia Beach and career US Navy veteran. He has raised his family in our area
while serving our country until retirement in 2002. Patrick’s children attended and graduated from Virginia Beach
Public Schools and his grandchildren will do the same.
During his military career, Patrick served on several ships and shore bases and has been involved in planning and executing numerous complex Naval, Joint, and Coalition operations and exercises. Patrick rose through the ranks to senior enlisted, honing his leadership and management skills culminating in assignment to a Training and Readiness Command as Department Head and senior strategy and tactics advisor. Upon his retirement he accepted employment with HiPk, LLC, which is a defense consulting firm specializing in Navy and Joint systems training, engineering, process improvement, warfare tactics and strategy. Patrick is active as a member of the Board of Directors for Vets House, a nonprofit 501C (3) organization that provides housing, food, clothing, counseling and other assistance to homeless veterans of the US Armed Forces in order to facilitate their return to gainful, independent, responsible and productive lifestyles. He is also active in the Virginia Beach City Committee of the Republican Party. Patrick enjoys golf, cooking, reading and spending time with his family. Patrick is married to the former Cecilia Lopes of Naples, Italy. Patrick and Cecilia are the proud parents of Isobel and Daniel, and grandparents of Christian, Jordan and Gabriella. Isobel is a college student and substitute teaching assistant for Virginia Beach Public Schools. Daniel graduated from Virginia Tech and works as a computer technician. Daniel is engaged to be married to Miss Christina Wong, also a graduate of Virginia Tech, and a 3rd year Pharmacy Student at Virginia Commonwealth University. |
